"Wildfire displays an accomplished approach to the craft, and excites in all the right ways, and I’m looking forward to sinking my teeth into whatever they drop next."
- Joe Bayliss, Swansea Music Hub
"Wonderful, evocative song. As rich, alluring and American-flavoured as a good bourbon. That's Hawthorn Avenue for the first time on this programme, that's 'Raised Me Better'."
- Adam Walton, BBC Radio Wales
Hawthorn Avenue are a fresh new Country duo made up of Marcus Gumms and Laura Benjamin, two experienced professional musicians from South Wales. Their primary influences come from the likes of Striking Matches, The Shires and American Young and they create a cool, alternative country sound with their music. Their debut EP, WILDFIRE, produced by Tommy Harden in Nashville combines classic country instrumentation with modern themes and lyrics and shows off the duo's diversity between angsty upbeat songs to more traditional love songs
After the overwhelming success of the launch of their first EP, the pair are working on more new music alongside planning performances to bring their music to as many places as possible. They've received incredible support from BBC Radio Wales, who have played their tracks numerous times in the short time that the EP has been out.
